Power of Attorney

1. Required Documents
Where a Power of Attorney is required for submission to a Court of Law in Sri Lanka or any other legal institution or matters related to legal implications, the applicant should obtain the Power of Attorney from a lawyer in Sri Lanka and bring the document to the Embassy along with the following documents that will be signed in the presence of a Diplomatic Officer at the Embassy;
- Power of Attorney prepared by a lawyer in Sri Lanka
- Applicant’s valid passport and QID
- Two witnesses with valid Sri Lankan Passports and QID
- Relevant official documents should be produced to substantiate the facts given in an Affidavit or a Power of Attorney.
2. Fees
- Prescribed fee for Power of Attorney- QAR 250/-
NOTE:
In the event of relevant official documents not being produced to substantiate the facts contained in an Affidavit or a Power of Attorney will not be considered for attestation.
The two witnesses are required to be in the Embassy for signing the Power of Attorney. The signing by the witnesses should be done at the Embassy. For signing the power of attorney, the owner of the document should physically be present at the Embassy from Sunday to Thursday between 8.30 AM – 1.00 PM.
